TIME SQUARE | UFO – What really happened at Roswell in 1947?

I’m thrilled to announce that the first draft of TIME SQUARE | UFO has been completed and it has now moved into the review-edit-review-edit-review-edit-edit-edit-edit phase. This is the second book in my great new TIME SQUARE series and it follows team ELMR who have been given their first rescue mission for Operation Slingshot. Eva, Lewis, Max and Razer find themselves smack bang in the middle of one of the most mysterious incidents of the 20th century.  Take a look at their Mission Brief below.

Mission Brief - ELMR-01 c

Amazingly, I’ve been able to track down a fairly recent news bulletin which deals with the speculation about the actual Roswell incident. You may like to click below to see it for yourself, but please keep in mind that TIME SQUARE | UFO is the real story of what happened at Roswell in 1947.

TIME SQUARE | UFO is another action-packed-thrill-filled-funny-adventure packed with a cool collection of wacky and lovable characters. If all goes to plan, the aim is for a September/October 2014 release.

If you’d like to be the first to know about its release then all you need to do is register for my Newsflash by clicking here.

Advance Review Copies (ARC) of
TIME SQUARE | UFO

For any bloggers/reviewers/teachers/librarians who would like to register their interest for an Advance Review Copy (ARC) for review ahead of the release, please complete the form below. I’ll contact you once I have a firm release date in mind (hoping for Sept/Oct).

My aim is to provide reviewers with around 4 weeks to read the book and prepare a fair and honest review. I would be grateful if a review could be posted by ARC recipients on your Blog/ Goodreads/ Amazon/ B&N/ Book Depository etc to coincide with the book’s release.

I’d like to thank everyone who registers (in advance), as without the support of the reading and blogging community, authors such as myself would be swamped in invisibility.

Exciting New Invention for Kids of All Ages

I’m uber-pleased to announce that I’ve finally flicked the switch on my newest invention, the paperback edition of TIME SQUARE | THE SHIFT. It’s now available for purchase at some excellent retailers.

I’m guessing that there are a bazillion readers out there who would love the smell and feel of a book printed on real paper, with a really shiny and colourful cover. If that sounds like you, then this is the perfect invention for you.

It’s got everything … it’s shiny, it’s colourful, it weighs something and it smells like a book. I’ve even designed it so that it can stand upright on a bookshelf. Also, at no extra cost, my design also converts your existing non-ebooks so that they can lean against my book on the bookshelf. It’s a marvellous way to store and look after your books.

Here’s a picture of the design. Note its sleek and colourful lines and pointy corners. They give it a sturdy and attractive look and feel.

TIME SQUARE | THE SHIFT released today + giveaway

After the long journey from idea to publishing, today marks the day that my new series, TIME SQUARE, is launched on Kindle.

TS - The Shift - Final CoverTIME SQUARE | THE SHIFT is the first book of this great new series, which is a mix of my trademark time-travel adventure, packed full of tension, fun and mystery. This one has plenty of great quirky characters, which I’m sure that you’ll fall in love with, and there is a generous serve of humor thrown in as well.

What’s it about? I hear you ask …

There’s more to time than ticks and tocks.

Imagine this. Your dad is a part-time archaeologist who has a tendency to discover things. One day, he comes home from an expedition with a crusty old relic, and dumps it in the basement. You’d probably think everything would be fine and dandy, but that’s where you’re wrong. Because that’s precisely when all the trouble started.

It’s 1930, and Lewis and Eva Hudson are a couple of twin teens with just such a dad. Then, on a chilly wintry day in Washington D.C., the three of them mysteriously disappear into thin air, without a trace. Throw in a weird and mysterious rival with a point to prove, add a looming disaster that threatens to break time itself, and pretty soon they’re smack bang in the front seat of a roller-coaster to doomsville.

Time Square | The Shift is an edge-of-your-seat time-travel adventure that’s full of action and plenty of humour. It’s sure to leave you begging for a breather. Join Dr Rex Hudson, his two teen kids Lewis and Eva, and a whole cast of wonderful and wacky characters as they try to fix the unfixable.

Meet Leonard Paxton

Thank you to everyone who recently took the time to jump into Portal B – Name a Character in my exclusive pre-release event for TIME SQUARE | THE SHIFT. I was thrilled at the number of character names nominated, and also the great response to the final voting for a winner from the top 10.

Leonard jumpLeonard Paxton was the clear winner with 46% of the vote, Walter Sneed came in second with 10%. It was a landslide.

So, my character has been named, Leonard Paxton, and I really do think that it suits him.

The name was originally nominated by Sandra, who also left the following comment explaining how she came up with the name.

Based on your description I chose the name Leonard Paxton – Leonard means “Brave Lion” and Paxton means “peaceful”

Congratulations, Sandra. WooHoo! Streamers, confetti, applause. You’ve won a copy of the paperback edition of TIME SQUARE | THE SHIFT. I’ll be in contact with you soon to make arrangements for delivery.

Stay tuned during the next week for the big reveal of the cover design that I’ve chosen, based on the feedback from readers who jumped into Portal A – Choose a Cover. I had a great response there as well.

Those of you who registered for Portal C – Free ARC for Review will also be hearing from me during the week. Keep an eye on your inbox.

Voting is open for a character name

Thanks a bazillion to everyone who took the time over the past week to jump into Portal B to nominate a  character name for my new book. Now it’s time to vote for your favourite/s.

I’ve listed the top 10 finalists below, which are my favourites from all of the nominations that I received. Voting is only open until the end of February, so  there’s not much time. The most popular name, as voted by you, will be used in TIME SQUARE | THE SHIFT.

Just between you and me, this character is one of my favourites in the book, so I feel that I need to look after him. Hence, it’s why I’m putting extra effort into giving him the best name possible.

And, just in case you’d forgotten. The reader who originally nominated the winning name will win a paperback edition of TIME SQUARE | THE SHIFT, which will be out over the next couple of months.

Please share this post with everyone that you come into contact with prior to the end of February. The more votes, the merrier.

Ok, everyone … start your engines … it’s time to vote (and share)

Then, on a chilly wintery day in Washington D.C., the three of them mysteriously disappear into thin air, without a trace. There is some good news, though – they end up in the most amazing place ever. But there’s bad news too – they’re stuck in time, with no way to get home.

Throw in a weird and mysterious rival with a point to prove, add a looming disaster that threatens to break time itself, and pretty soon they’re smack bang in the front seat of a roller-coaster to doomsville.
